Broken River

Broken River Ski Area, located in the Southern Alps of New Zealand, boasts some of New Zealand's best off-piste, soft-snow skiing and snowboarding.

It offers fantastic terrain for all levels of skiers and boarders, on-mountain accommodation, uncrowded powder basins and chutes - and, the best part, a friendly and inviting atmosphere. More info


Mt Olympus

Mount Olympus Ski Area, dubbed "playground of the gods", is a club skifield in Craigieburn Range, on New Zealand's South Island. Near the town of Windwhistle, and in the vicinity of other club fields such as Mount Cheeseman and Broken River. The skifield is run by the Windwhistle Ski Club. Ranging in elevation from 1430m to 1880m, the terrain distribution is 10% beginner, 55% intermediate and 35% advanced. There are four rope tows, and with a bit of walking, 60 hectares of terrain is available. More info


Craigieburn Valley

Ski surrounded by the awesome vista of the Craigieburn Range. If you're an advanced or expert rider then Craigieburn could be your holy grail.

While the mountain itself offers some of the most easy to access advanced off-piste skiing around the globe, Craigieburn offers much more than a place to ski. The cosy slope side accommodation is the seasonal home to a community of snow addicts from all over the globe, who collectively share their stories at the après ski lounge and over dinner after a day on the hill. Mt Cheeseman

Cheeseman is a friendly ski area which promotes a fun, family environment in an alpine setting. The mountain has a sunny aspect with groomed runs and off-piste terrain catering for all abilities. It has two T-bar lifts (Main T-bar and Ridge T-bar) which provide access to the whole mountain; and a learners’ rope tow in a dedicated learners’ area.

For adventurers looking for un-tracked trails and off-piste experiences, Mt Cockayne offers challenging skiing and fantastic views of the Craigieburn Range. The Ridge T-bar also offers access to the back country for day trips. Please note that there is no ski patrol beyond the ski area boundary therefore you are entirely responsible for your own safety. Temple Basin

Temple Basin is a club skifield in Arthur's Pass, in New Zealand's South Island. Operated by two clubs, the Temple Basin Ski Club, and the Canterbury University Snow Sports Club, the ski area has 3 rope tows, two on-site lodges, two shelters and a ski school and ski shop.

The tows cover an elevation range of 1326–1753 metres, for a skiable domain of 320 hectares. Its natural terrain has been highly recommended by adventure skiers on several occasions. More info


Fox Peak

Fox Peak is a small club skifield located 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) to the east of Lake Tekapo in New Zealand's South Island. Visitors are always welcome to enjoy its lodge and its skiing and boarding during the season.

Members receive lift and accommodation discounts in return for their contributions and anyone can be a member.

The field is on remote private land, North West from Fairlie, making security necessary when the field is not operating. More info


Roundhill

Roundhill is a fantastic family ski field with breathtaking views of Aoraki Mt Cook, the Southern Alps and Lake Tekapo. Roundhill is a place that friends and family meet to enjoy a relaxing day on the slopes.

Learners and little ones can head to our massive beginners area featuring a platter lift and 2 beginners rope tows for a fun and gentle way to find your feet in the snow. 2 T-Bars give access to loads of super wide, perfectly groomed intermediate trails with lots of natural dips and curves making for fun and interesting skiing and riding.

For the more adventurous, head up the world’s (yes that’s right!) longest and steepest rope tow and see what Australasia’s biggest vertical drop (783m) is all about. Offering super long natural half pipes, chutes this is skiing and riding at its best. For the freestylers, Central Park has jumps, rollers, rails and boxes for most abilities. More info

Heli-Ski

Heli-ski and heli-snowboarding adventures can be experienced in the “Arrowsmiths” near Methven. This terrain has been Methven Heliski’s home for the last 30 years and spans three mountain ranges in the South Island of New Zealand.

Heliski tours operate during the months of July, August, and September each year and Methven Heliski provide a range of packages including multi-day heliski trips, and private charter heliskiing.

Their standard heliski package features an spectacular drive into Canterbury’s high-country to Glenfalloch Station (helicopter pad), 5 incredible runs in New Zealand’s Southern Alps, averaging 750-1,000 vertical metre drops.

The terrain is so extensive that they are often heliskiing in the sun when Mt Hutt ski area is draped in cloud.
